Focus on your Business

Strategy, Structure and Implementation (SSI) is at the core of all well run and successful organisations.
Once the fundamentals of Purpose, Values, Aims, Goals and Objectives have been established, the tangible focus of the business can begin.
There should be no more than 3 - 4 active Strategies at any one time.
Once strategies are agreed, a suitable structure needs to be designed to deliver the Strategies.
There is no point in having a nice Strategic Plan, if it is not implemented to an agreed timescale.
That is where we, at STRATEGA, really start to earn our very reasonable fees.

Purpose

Why are you in Business?

An organization with a clear purpose is one that is easy to understand and manage. A common purpose unifies employees and helps them understand the organization's direction.
It is a constant reminder of it's reason for being in business. It helps define and accentuate the brand and contributes to the development of an optimum culture.
It engages with staff, customers and shareholders and builds loyalty and love for your brand. It should be short, memorable and at the centre of everything you do.
STRATEGA'S PURPOSE is "We take the complexity out of Business"
Purpose

Values

What is in your DNA?

There are many views about the critical issue of defining the values for an organisation.
In coming to a conclusion it is worth considering your own values first to see if they align with the Purpose of the organisation.
In that way it should be possible to develop a set of values for the organisation that resonate with all stakeholders.
There is a temptation to list up to 10 values or even more in many organisations. In reality, less is more when wanting to communicate and reinforce them.
STRATEGA'S VALUES are:
Passion
Focus
Accountability
Perseverance
Discipline

Values

Aims

What do you want to Achieve?

Aims describes what a company desires to achieve in the long-run, generally in a time frame of five to ten years, or sometimes even longer.
It depicts what the company will look like in the future and sets a defined direction for the planning and execution of corporate-level strategies.
Example:
"To create vibrant local communities that create wealth for Farmers, Businesses and Individuals"
Aims

Goals

Focus on Specifics

Goals are specific statements of intent.
A goal is usually broad and does not lay out the steps to achieve it.
A goal is a target or destination. Goals keep you focused on your Aims and on track, working to achieve them.
Example:
A company might have an Aim to increase profits so they set a specific goal to increase profits by 25 percent within one year.
Goals

Objectives

Actions speak louder than Words

Goals are destinations and Objectives are the actions needed to arrive at that destination.
Objectives are measurable and there may be multiple objectives leading to your goals and aims.
Example:
If your overall goal is to get a more rewarding job, you will most likely have a set of objectives that help you to achieve this.
Such objectives might include sending letters to companies you want to work for, brushing up on interview techniques and learning skills or obtaining qualifications that would increase your employment prospects.
Objectives are like a road map, giving you direction as to what you what you need to do and when you need to do it in order to achieve your business goals and aims.
